Finally, after much confusion & concern over borders opening etc etc we have been back in action again enjoying some off piste and ski touring!
The winter kicked off in the Val de Bagnes in Switzerland, with 3 days skiing with Simon, Steve, Richard & Tim. We enjoyed some off-grid esoterica as well as a day of epic powder in Verbier to cap things off!
Next up was a couple of days in Chamonix for my annual ‘tune-up’ session with IFMGA Guide Andy Perkins. Always keen to develop his own skiing and be able to help his own clients better, we had a fun couple of days around Brévent & Flégère with some good conditions on the Hotel Face giving us some prime terrain to play with.
We were joined this year by Aspirant Guide Lou Reynolds who went on to pass her final ski test (and final step to full IFMGA certification) shortly after – congratulations!
The rest of the month of January and early February were spent back at home in the Vanoise, with a variety of private off piste coaching/guiding groups – despite being a ‘low snow’ year we still managed to find some fun turns…
